Important Notice
Tadabase is retiring the Dropbox file storage option for new implementations due to security and reliability concerns. Existing Dropbox setups will continue to work until December 31, 2026.
What's Changing
- New Apps: Dropbox is no longer available as a file storage option for new apps or new field configurations
- Existing Setups: Current Dropbox integrations will continue functioning until December 31, 2026
- Transition Period: Over 15 months to migrate to alternative storage options
Why This Change?
Tadabase identified security and reliability concerns with the Dropbox integration that could not be adequately addressed. To ensure platform security and reliability, the decision was made to sunset this option.
Recommended Alternatives
Tadabase Default S3 Storage
The simplest option - use Tadabase's default Amazon S3 storage:
- No configuration required
- Secure and reliable
- Managed by Tadabase
- Included with all plans
Custom S3 Bucket Integration
For organizations needing full control:
- Use your own AWS S3 bucket
- Complete control over storage
- Custom security policies
- Direct access to files
- Unlimited storage (based on your AWS plan)
Migration Timeline
- September 23, 2025: Dropbox unavailable for new implementations
- September 2025 - December 2026: Transition period for existing setups
- December 31, 2026: All Dropbox integrations cease functioning
Action Required
If you currently use Dropbox for file storage in Tadabase:
- Plan your migration strategy before December 31, 2026
- Choose an alternative storage option (Tadabase S3 or Custom S3)
- Test the new storage option in a development environment
- Migrate your files to the new storage
- Update your app configuration
