Components

What is a component

A component is a specific view with unique functionality that can be added into your app for your users to interact with.

There are 2 types of components.

Since each component has many of its own unique settings and configurations, there is an article for each component under the sections they belongs to.

Below we will look at the basics that are applicable to all components.

Adding components

There are two ways of adding components to a page.

  • Top Menu
  • Inside a column

Top Menu

To add a component from the top menu simply click on the component you wish to add and it will be added to the bottom of the page inside a new row and column.

Inside a column

To add a component inside a specific column click the + icon to add a component which will place the component inside the column which you clicked on the + button.

A component can be added at the top or bottom of each column.

Editing components

Each component has many unique settings and options and can be edited by simply clicking on the component icon. Clicking anywhere within the component box will open the editable options for that component.

Moving components

Components must be nested inside a column but can be moved from one column to another. Please refer back to the page builder overview to learn more about page, row and column structure.

Click the 4-arrow icon and drag the component to any other column you wish to move it to. When using drag and drop you’ll see a highlighted border where the component will be placed.

Deleting components

Components can be deleted by clicking the trash-icon. Deleting data components can have drastic implications.

Here’s a few things to keep note of:

If the data component has child pages associated with it, deleting the component will orphan those child pages. These child pages include:

  • Record details pages and any pages nested below this details page

  • Edit pages

  • Add new pages
