Backup and Restore Logs
Tracking Backups and Restores in Tadabase
Tadabase logs all backups and restores to ensure transparency and provide the ability to track the history of your app's state. This guide explains how to access and interpret these logs, as well as how to manage backups and restores.
Accessing Backup Logs
To view your app's backups, follow these steps:
The backup logs display all backups created for your app, providing important details about when a backup was created and by whom.
Backup Log Information
Each backup log entry includes the following details:
- Backup Date: The date and time the backup was created.
- Triggered By: The user or system action that triggered the backup.
- Status: Indicates whether the backup was successful or failed.
Reviewing these logs can help you identify when the last backup was made, which is critical when preparing to restore your app.
Accessing Restore Logs
To view logs of all restores, including manual ones done by the Tadabase support team, follow these steps:
The restore logs provide details about each restore, making it easy to track changes and ensure that any manual interventions can be rolled back if necessary.
Restore Log Information
Each restore log entry includes:
- Restore Date: The date and time the restore was performed.
- Triggered By: The user or team member who initiated the restore.
- Backup Used: The backup version that was restored.
- Status: Indicates the success or failure of the restore.
Managing Backups and Restores
On certain plans, users can manually restore their app by going to the Backups page and clicking Restore next to the desired backup. Additionally, users can trigger manual backups from this page. We highly recommend performing a manual backup before proceeding with any restore.
Important Notes:
- Wait for the backup to appear in your logs before attempting a restore.
- Restoring will overwrite your entire app back to the selected version.
Displaying Logs on the App Side
As with other logs, both backup and restore logs can be displayed within your app. This allows for better visibility and control over when backups were made and what restores have been performed. For more details, refer to the "Add Logs to App" article.
We'd love to hear your feedback.
